Crystal Light Review: Staying Hydrated
How do you stay hydrated and fresh in the summer heat?
I get a lot of email forward's. We all do. But last week, I got one, that if even a tiny bit true, blew my mind. The basic premise of the email was to drink more water and to avoid carbonated beverages. It listed many reason as to why for each one, but there was one in particular about water that really got me thinking!
It said this: our bodies are so de-programmed when it comes to hydration that many times, our body will send us the hungry signal when in fact, our body is really just in need of fluids. I thought about how many times I sit around and snack when I shouldn't really even be hungry and figured I would try to drink a glass of water first, each time I'm feeling the urge to snack.
It is absolutely amazing how much less I am snacking since I adopted this philosophy.
Because I am an outdoors girl and am always working on my yard and perennial gardens, I am frequently spending many hours outside in extreme heat. Bottled water is a wonderful thing to have on hand, especially when Crystal Light offers little packets you can dump right into your bottle, shake and enjoy.
I found some great hints for keeping hydrated this summer that I'd like to share with you courtesy of Brigham and Women's Hospital:
- Have a glass of water when you first get up.
- Keep a glass of water next to the bed.
- Enjoy an herbal tea in the afternoon or evening (Crystal Light has some awesome ones!)
- Carry water with you if you are away for long periods of time.
- Drink before you get thirsty.
- Limit sugary, caffeinated beverages (yet another reason to try one of Crystal Light's many varieties).
- Choose drinks with 10 or fewer calories.
- Know the signs of dehydration (headache, light-headedness, fatigue, flushed skin).
Did you know that Crystal Light offers "Sunrise" beverages that contain 100% of the recommended dosage of Vitamin C, as well as a variety of other tea's and some mixes that are even infused with extra antioxidants to help with immunity, etc.? To see all the varieties, please visit here.

What is your favorite way to stay hydrated in the summer?
We increase our water intake in the heat of summer and spend a lot of time at the rec pool or the lake.
I drink a lot of water but having the option of CL makes it great for switching up. And very easy to make lemonade.
Great post. A friend who’s a life coach drinks a large glass of water every morning and said it really changes the outlook of her day. Thanks!
I like to drink Crystal Light iced tea or Aquafina FlavorSplash Strawberry Kiwi.
I drink a lot of water, and carry around a re-fillable water bottle in my bag. It’s a great way to drink on the go! I also eat a lot of fruit, especially juicy ones like watermelon which is mostly made up of water anyway 😉 Thanks!
Crystal Light Peach Tea! Love love LOVE it! I usually drink plenty of water anyway, but when I need a thirst quencher AND something cool and delicious, I reach for Crystal Light Peach Tea.
I drink plenty of water. I carry a water bottle with me.
I learned about 5 years ago while living abroad to drink water at room temp or warm (or hot, as in tea) , but never cold or with ice and to drink it all the time! I do that and literally I don’t think I have had a headache since then! I think I stay refreshed that way!
I drink lots of water in the summer and make the kids drink it too. If we are going to an amusement park or something like that I get them the crystal light packets for their water bottles as a treat.
I carry my water bottle with me at all times- or I at least have one stashed in the car. Eating lots of water filled fruits and veggies helps too!
Drinking lots and lots of water and eating lots and lots of fresh fruit and veggies
I try to keep lots of water in the frig in reusable bottles so the kids can have plenty of water while they play outside.
i drink lots and lots of water. i like it with a splash of lime.
I keep ice cold water in a pitcher on the kitchen counter, and have sliced lemons in it. Having it front and center makes it so readily available for all of us to stay hydrated all day long.

I carry a thermos of water to work and drink tap water & iced tea at home to stay hydrated!
I will stay hydrated by keeping a filled water bottle with me at all times. Thanks for this giveaway.
I drink tons of water and if I’m outside I take a spray bottle full of water to spritz myself – does wonders!
My favorite way to stay hydrated in summer
is to sit on my covered front porch and drink
iced tea!
To keep something NICE and Cold to sip on throughout the day. Crystal Light fits that bill well…. altho I did have to buy ice trays for the office refrig!
I am drinking Crystal Light, the sunshine flavor, right now and I absolutely love it! Normally, I am a diet coke fanatic because I like the fizz but I have found that CL actually does a much better job at keeping you hydrated. It is 103 today in Florida so we definately have to be careful here not to get dehydrated. Thanks for the giveaway!
We’re not big plain water fans in our house. I keep about 5 reusable water bottles in our refrigerator filled with a mix of 1/2 Crystal Light Iced Tea and 1/2 Crystal Light Lemonade so everyone can grab and go. I also make my own Crystal Light ice cubes to add to our glasses of Crystal Light from our pitcher in the refrigerator..this way it doesn’t water down the flavor.
If your life feels like it is lacking the power that you want and the motivation that you need, sometimes all you have to do is shift your point of view.
Drink a lot of water, gatorade and sweet tea.
I bought a pretty, BPA-free reuasable plastic water bottle-I fill it with water or decaf, unsweetened iced tea, or a water additive like Crystal Light and carry it with me when I go to work or am out during the day. I freeze it for a half hour before going and add ice cubes. This has me staying far more hydrated and I have had fewer headaches!
I drink tons of water!! Year round! with lemon preferrably
But, once in a while, I do use the Crystal Light to change it up a bit!
thanks for the chance to win!

We stay hydrated by drinking lots of iced water with lemon, iced tea with lemon (though occasionally we will add sugar), load up on lots of fruits especially mellons, and of course keep our reuseable bottles filled with water or for a special tweak of tasty water with a Crystal Light packet. Makes me feel not so guilty but satisfies that sweet desire. Thanks for the giveaway!
