Better Breakfast, Better You; Jimmy Dean D-Lights
This is a compensated review by BlogHer and Jimmy Dean; however, the opinions and views expressed are my own.
New Years resolutions are frequently forgotten about one week into the new year. People often choose resolutions that are too tough to stick to or too much of a reach. I'm not going to make that mistake this year.
Instead of waiting until the New Year to start really getting into the workout mode again, I started a couple weeks ago and it's been going well. I know that it's difficult for me to get motivated to work out on my own, so I set up a bunch of personal training sessions with an affordable trainer who I've worked out with before. He's been busy making me sore and miserable (in a good way) for a few weeks now.
The best thing about him is that it's not all about pushing weights around. He's also talked to me a lot about nutrition and especially about protein. If you're going to work out in the morning, you need to eat protein before you go; and when you come home, a sensible lunch and a protein shake later in the day really make the difference between sticking with your workout plan and finding yourself elbow deep in a container of cheese balls.
Last week when I worked out with him, I had a bagel before I went to workout. Half way through our workout, I was dead tired. Today, I had a protein shake before going for my workout and the difference was unbelievable. It took longer for my muscles to fatigue and I felt stronger overall. And those kinds of feelings can become addicting, which is exactly what I'm hoping will happen.
Over the summer, I was one of the fortunate ones who got to spend some time with Jimmy Dean's "The Sun." He and a celebrity chef made me three different meals with different Jimmy Dean products, and I was a happy and full girl by the time the show was finished filming.
Recently, I was told about a new Jimmy Dean product called "D-Lights." This is the perfect way to get my protein each morning and I am looking forward to giving them a try this week.

I have been making sweeping changes lately. I’m a Roller Derby player and the training it takes to stay competitive is grueling! I take a personal training boot camp 2x a week, practice for 2 hours 2x a week, and run 3 days a week. I also noticed what I ate before a session made the difference in if I could just roll on forever or if I crashed after an hour! Funny though, if I eat an egg white & veggie scramble and a Jimmy Dean sausage patty, I do awesome! So, for 2011, I am NOT dieting…. I’m going to make better choices in my diet. I like to think of it as fuel to hip check someone into the crowd!
I’ve had the Jimmy Dean D-Lites and they are tasty! I get the large box from Sam’s Club and keep them in the freezer.
Great breakfast for on-the-go!

I plan on making better choices, but following the nutrition information on food packages. I limit my self to the serving suggestion for portion control

Definately going back to eating better and cutting out the sugar. I know I’m a sugar addict but lately, it’s gotta out of control. Starting this week, I’ve been making better, healthier choices for snacks. I also need to start cooking more meals at home rather than eating whatever junk I can grab on the go.
I will have to try these for me and the guys. Anything to get us to eat better.
I’m going to start biking to work instead of taking the bus.
I have GOT to start exercising.
I plan on walking more and getting better eating by eating less sugar and junk foods and eating more fruits and vegetables

For 2011, I’m planning to quit smoking AND drinking pop. Wish me luck because I’m so going to need it!
My plan is to eat healthy to be healthy, walk more and drink a lot of water.
I plan to do more yoga and jogging

I run. So, my plan for 2011 is to work on incorporating running and other workouts. We’ll see how it goes 🙂

I am going to try to quit smoking this year. Again.
I’m going to extend my work out from thirty minutes to an hour!
I’m planning on trying to eat less fat and exercising more!! Thanks!

this year i am switching from soda to water. I know it is better for me and i am ready to make the change,
loatingonabiscuit@gmail.com
I’m planning to eat more whole foods and drink less sugar.
I plan on drinking more water and walking more stairs instead of taking the elevator. I have tasted Jimmy Dean D-Lights and although the quick breakfast may taste good and be high in fiber they are filled with Sodium – approx. 35% of your daily allowance as with most store bought products. Also, the Turkey Sausage muffin I bought has High Fructose Syrup in it. This is a bit sad as “healthy brands” should be staying away from HFCS! To stay healthier in 2011, make your own egg breakfast using egg whites, whole wheat toast.
I plan to try to eat more protien every day and combine that with my daily exercises.

I am not dieting either – I hear you there! I recently started going to the gym 3x a week and am feeling better for it. I plan to keep that up.
I plan on exercising daily for better health. Even if it’s only for 20-30 minutes.

I plan on eating in a more healthful manner and exercising more regularly to lose weight.

I plan on making better choices by eating healthier foods and excersing daily so I set a better example for my kids.
I have got the exercising thing down and do some form of exercise at least 5 days a week. I really need to be more mindful of what I am sticking in my mouth and plan on making changes in my diet. Thanks!
My plan for 2011 is to “do what matters most”. That means I will put my time and energy toward the things I care most about, which includes keeping in touch with the people I love, making our home a more orderly place (which will make my sweetheart very happy), and finding time to be creative.

I’m having back surgery later this week, and I vow to follow the directions of the physical therapist. When it comes to exercize programs, I typically roll my eyes and yawn. However, in this case, it’ll be more important than ever to regain my strength and stamina. Doing it “my way” won’t cut it.
Thanks for a great giveaway!

McCarthy ripped off A Boy and His Dog for The Road?! Ridiculous. Pathetic. Absolutely without foundation, and just another bent nail in the coffin of Harlan’s rep and legacy. He makes me so mad. Why doesn’t he finish one of his damn unseen opuses? Instead he prefers to yell “Thief, thief,” at the end of his days.
I’m going to be getting back in shape after my 2nd baby (due any day now!!!). I plan to focus on incorporating whole foods and gradually increasing to a more intense workout routine. I would love to do a race or some other fitness event before the end of the year.
i plan on drinking more water instead of diet coke all day
My new resolution is to up my trips to the gym from 2 a week to 3 times a week. And to hold myself to “making up” missed gym trips with videos at home.
catherine(dot)alley(at)gmail(dot)com
I have resolved to actually eat breakfast in the morning. Usually I just run out of the house and don’t even think about it. So by mid-morning, I am starving and I have to go the vending machine to get something to snack on. So by eating a healthy breakfast every day, I should be able to curb all of the snacking that I do.
Well I haven’t done a very good job so far, but more sleep and more water are at the top of my list!
Do P90X at 4:45 AM and eat less sugar!
i will try to buy less sugary processed foods
I’m planning on eating more Fruit in my diet!
More exercise, no snacking, more water, and prepare my own foods!
I plan on eating more whole grains, and drinking more water – and if I can find the time exercising more.

I really love the convienence of the D-lites. They taste great and help me to stay on track. Also I believe they are only 6 points on the WW plan. This plus starting an exercise program will help me to reach my weight goals for this year.
I plan to write down the main items I am eating every day to see how much effect they have on my health

I plan on carrying my KOR water bottle around everyday, drinking MORE water.
I plan on eating out a lot less = healthier and saving more $$$!
I also plan on getting back into doing what I love best: Fashion Design. I plan on enrolling in specialty design courses to pick up more skills i can incorporate into my designs. 🙂

I really need to be better about exercising and more protein definitely wouldn’t hurt either 🙂

I am trying to make more of an effort to make more home cooked meals- they are cheaper and healthier, but will require more planning on my part!
I decided that instead of New Year’s Resolutions, I’m going to challenge myself to learn something new every year. I always felt weird that I didn’t know how to swim so this year I signed up for swimming lessons at our local community college. Not only will I learn a new skill, I’m hoping to get healthier with some much-needed exercise.

Great Blog.
Thank you for having an easy to use entry form.
I am planning to get back to walking and also preparing healthier meals. My family has tried the Jimmy Dean D-lights and they just love them.
I’m making a conscious decision to stop picking at my face. No more “just this once”s or “only whiteheads”. (tmi? maybe.) IM GOING COLD TURKEY! lol.
I have started going to the gym more frequently with my daughter and I can FEEL the change. Thanks to my motivator (my daughter) I am staying more on track. Thanks for the suggestion of the D-lites. I work in the mornings and I am usually rushing out the door, so this will be a great addition to my more healthy eating habits. Thanks!
I plan to drink more water and eat less sweets!
I’m going to eat a healthier breakfast every morning to keep me full until lunchtime.
