Exciting Day for the Ladies
I was feeling completely disenchanted with politics. This after I spent hours involved in the last two previous Presidential campaigns. I didn’t think I could get excited about a VP candidate. Today, that has all changed.
This is an exciting day for women everywhere and I couldn’t be happier. She’s a Mom of five kids (one of them a special needs child), a former sportscaster, a hockey player and potentially our next Vice President.
Congratulations to Sarah Palin! She just made my day. I’m officially excited about the election!
It’s just too bad that Obama’s going to be the one in office. 🙂
Or not. . . 😉
Well, maybe exciting. Maybe horrifying. I do have to chuckle when the conservative pundits demand that it not be about gender, until they nominate a woman, and then it is all about her gender. Sheesh.
On the plus, I pimped your calendar vote on my Tumblr: http://littleblueschool.tumblr.com/
Oh boy. McCain has made it very clear that he will say and do anything for a vote. Personally, I find it profoundly disappointing that the person I voted for in the primaries eight years ago and supported for president of the USA at that time has completely and unequivocally abandoned his principles. 🙁
Lydia: Thanks for the plug.
Steve: LOL, you’re just upset because he proved himself a smart man today. It was unexpected and a breath of fresh air. Politics brings out your most contrary charm.
Please don’t insult me like that. There are things about which I joke and things about which I don’t. McCain has sold his soul to the GOP and I hope he can live with himself. 🙁
For what it’s worth, the pandering to the disenfranchised Clinton vote is pathetic but completely beside the point.
After hearing Sara Palin speak, I think old John made an excellent choice. This woman has been a Governor, leader of the Alaska National Guard and yet the left is completely discounting her as a legitimate VP candidate because she is a woman?? I find it even funnier that the Obama camp is criticizing her lack of experience…what experience does Obama have(skipping votes in the Senate doesn’t count) I think McCain picked the best possible running mate who is also a woman. I can’t wait to see Palin go toe to toe with Joe Biden. It looks like the USA is going to have its very first female VP!
Oh Steve, I hope you’re kidding. You need to relax a bit. McCain was not my first choice for the GOP nomination. In fact, I wrote in a choice long after everyone was dropping out and it was all but decided. However, I’m liking what I see now.
Chris: I agree. I didn’t know anything about her but after watching the news stations for hours yesterday, and after hearing her speak, I think he made a wise choice. I was never a Hillary fan and I often said, “I can’t believe we can’t come up with a qualified woman other than Hillary.” So far I like what I see, and the coolest part is that we’re going to have a woman VP or a black President for the first time ever. It’s an exciting election for women and minorities no matter which side you’re on.
BBM-We’ve already spoken at length about this, but I’ll just say good for you for posting this on your blog!!! No matter ANYONE’S political beliefs, no one can say this will not be an interesting campaign. Good job to the conservative party for getting a great female role model in there. She’s a “real” woman that the majority of women can relate to. I can’t believe that she has a four month old and is running for VP!! When Builder Boy was 4 months old, I was still crying on the couch…Wow!
I’m very excited about her! Like you, McCain was not my first choice, in fact, I was finding it hard to have to vote for him but would have done so. Now I’m actually looking forward to casting that vote for him and he’s got her to thank for that.
