Meeting Real Live Bloggers: Tequila Con 2008
Last night, Mr. BBM and I met some real live bloggers face to face. They did not disappoint. This was my very first Tequila Con and it did not disappoint either. I had plans to make a photo essay out of the whole night, but then I realized that we had over 40 pictures, and there was just no way I could upload them all here. So, if you’d like to see the photographic evidence of our very good time, you can go here. This is where everyone will be uploading their own pictures of Tequila Con. I’ve added a few below, just for fun.
I spent the entire night laughing and smiling almost non-stop. My sides and face hurt by the time it was all over. It really was that much fun. The planning crew, Dave, Jenny, Dustin, Vahid (please forgive me if I’m missing someone) were so welcoming and sweet. We got custom lanyards, pins to add some bling, and even a soundtrack that is just plain awesome (I thought I was the only person who liked S-S-S-S-Samantha Fox).
Just a couple highlights from the night:
-Sneaking into the DJ booth ninja style armed with song requests and $10 along with the help and support of Jenny and Dee Dee.
–Adam teaching me about the joys of being able to bring Karl’s posts to life even in a bowling alley.
-Hanging out with Hello Ha Ha Narf and Vahid.
-Meeting Karl which, well, words can’t even begin to describe.
-Watching Dustin break out the Tequila costume and then work the room like a pro.
-Kicking Dave’s butt, because he put in a special request.
-Meeting one of my favorite readers, Delmer and his friend with very cool shoes Donna!
-Meeting Lisa and her husband and Hilly.
-Being in the presence of Miss Britt doing just about anything, but especially dancing.
-Comparing PT notes with Rachel.
-Trying to make the case for Pete and Mike being serial killers. They’re so totally not.
-Saving Dan at Chucklehut for last, and even sharing a cab back to our respective hotels.
It was great to meet so many fantastic people. Looking back over the list of attendees today, I can’t believe all of the ones I didn’t get to meet last night. I guess there’s always next year!
I had SO much fun hanging out with you and Mr. BBM last night – and way to pull out the business cards with the DJ and get the job done! But the jury’s still out on Pete and Mike… who’s to say they’re not serial killers?
You were definitely one of the highlights of my evening. So glad you two came. I have to start uploading my photos. Been home for about an hour now.
TC never fails! I’m glad you went and had such a great time. I hope one of these days we’ll get to meet.
🙂
OH that sounds like so much enjoyment, and fun all rolled up into an evening that must have felt far too short!
I’m glad that you posted up such pictures, and links to allow us to experience some of it. Thanks.
Hey BBM, can you post information about this conference? I’ve not heard of it. Location, cost, etc.?
Do they have a conference website?
Thanks!
~BCP
It was awesome to finally meet you!!! We can have our own personal TC anytime we want to since we are practically in eachother’s back yards.
It’s was a fun night!
I am so happy we got to meet! You are just an amazing person overall.
Aren’t you glad you took a chance and met us crazies now? 😉
Jenny: I had a blast with you too. You’re an awesome party planner.
Karl: Right back at ya.
Sizzle: I hope so too!
Supergroup: It was an absolute blast!
BCP: It’s not really so much a conference as it was a blogger night out. Jenny is the party planner: http://www.runjenrun.com. It’s totally free to go except for travel costs to get there.
Lisa: Sounds like a plan.
Hilly: It was awesome to meet you too! I’m definitely glad I went. I don’t think there were ever so many cool people all in one place before. It was a great night!
I’m with you – I can’t believe how many people I didn’t meet or get to talk to for long at all!! (Perhaps if I had not required a nap?)
It was so fun to meet you. And my GOD woman I have heard non stop RAVES about you from everyone else who got to hang out with you for longer than I did!
I have idea for next year’s giveaway…
A BBM branded bottle of water and complementary ibuprofen. I’m sure we all would have enjoyed that parting gift.
It was wonderful meeting you; I wish we gotten a chance to talk more. You are lovely!
I met you very briefly and hope that I will get to know you better and spend more time with you next year.
Miss Britt: I am seriously going to start getting an ego problem soon. You’re all way too nice. You were a riot. Next year, when my knee is better, I’m dancing more. We’ll bond.
Mr. BBM-Don’t go publishing these fantastic ideas! Sounds like a good plan to me.
Finn: You’re so sweet. It was nice meeting you too.
Shelli: There’s always next year-looking forward to it!
BBMama – It was wonderful to meet you! You and your husband are an adorable couple!
Your Dancin’ Queen Status is safe with me…The Doc doesn’t need to know. (What goes on in Philly…stays in Philly!) 🙂
And obviously you’ve discovered my foot fetish, or rather, my shoe fetish! I hate feeling short! :p~~
Looking forward to reading you more!

I missed meeting you (but you weren’t the one) This gives me more reason to get to another one!
totally crushing on you. and your husband.
that is all!
Black Belt Mama, you and Mr BBM are awesome people. So glad I got to meet you!
As far as contests go… I would certainly enter to “Win an Ass-Kicking From Black Belt Momma!”
Oh wait… I got one of those for free!
ShoeZZ: Considering I pretty much danced on one leg, it’s all good. Great to meet you too!
MetalMom: Sounds like a plan.
hello ha ha narf: Aw, so sweet. It was great meeting you too!
Iron Fist: For having a blog with such a powerful name, you were an unexpected and charming delight to meet.
Dave2: It was my pleasure. Looking forward to using both legs on you next year!
I’m late to the party – AGAIN – but let that not detract from what I’m saying: you and MrBBM are exactly the reason I like going to TC – I just meet the nicest, nicest, people! Honestly I remember catching your eye from across the room in the early and mid-evening and thinking, she’s too cool for my school, but even so, you were so friendly and gracious to me when we did meet that I regretted waiting so long to say hello. You guys totally rock!
Dan: I’ve never been “too cool” for anyone. I’m glad we got to meet and I can’t wait to hear about your new baby when that happens. It was very cool talking to you (plus we saved money on cab fare). 😉
I’m glad to hear you came away from this unkilled by strangers you met on the internet. I guess Mom was wrong, but hopefully she was glad to be.
I hope you threatened to bury St. Joseph a second time if he didn’t get to work and quick.
